DRAINAGE BOARD AGENDA

VARIANCE REQUEST FOR THE SARAH  WILLIAMSON DRAIN, LOT 21 TOWN OF BURKET, TABLED FROM THE FEBRUARY 28, 2019 MEETING.

The Board approved the variance contingent upon the rerouting of the county tile.

THE BOARD WILL BE PRESENTED WITH A REPORT ON THE PLUNGE CREEK RECONSTRUCTION TO CONSIDER A RATE AND MINIMUM AND POSSIBLE HEARING DATE.

The Board approved a hearing date of May, 23, 2019 at 9:00 AM with a rate of $111.24

THE BOARD WILL BE PRESENTED WITH AN UPDATE ON THE CAUFFMAN DRAIN IN AND AROUND THE TOWN OF CLAYPOOL.

The Drainage Board was informed that this project was approved by the Redevelopment Committee at their last meeting.  Bids will be advertised and a pre bid meeting will be held on May 9, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Surveyor's Office.  The Drainage Board has set a special meeting date to open bids on June 6th 2019 in the Surveyor's Office at 9:00 AM.  

THE BOARD WILL BE PRESENTED WITH A REPORT ON THE PETERSON DRAIN TO CONSIDER A RATE AND MINIMUM FOR A FUTURE MAINTENANCE HEARING TO INCREASE THE ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS.

The Board approved a hearing date of May 23, 2019 at 9:00 AM with a rate of $3.50 per acre and a minimum of $25 for a minimum balance of 4 years of collection.

THERE WILL BE A JOINT BOARD HEARING TO INCREASE THE ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS ON THE SILVEUS DRAIN.  THE JOINT BOARD WILL CONSIST OF 2 MEMBERS FROM KOSCIUSKO COUNTY AND 2 MEMBERS FROM FULTON COUNTY AND A FIFTH MEMBER FROM ELKHART COUNTY.  THE BOARD WILL REVIEW ALL REMONSTRANCES AND PUBLIC DISCUSSION. WABASH COUNTY HAS WAIVED THEIR RIGHT TO BE REPRESENTED.  The current rate is $3.00 per acre and a $20 minumum.  The current annual collection is $11,249.96  The proposed rate is $9.00 and a $50 minimum which will generate an annual collection of $35,973.13. The drain is currently in debt to the General Drain fund $51,474.32.

The Joint Drainage Board approved the rate at $9.00 per acre with a $50 minimum for a period of 3 years, 2020, 2021 and 2022.  The rate then will be reduced for 2023 to $5.00 per acre with a minimum of $25.00 for a minimum balance of 4 years of collection.
