DRAINAGE BOARD MEETING  MAY 23, 2019

ESSIG DRAIN variance for new home construction. 

             Lawrence Phenegar TR N1/2 NE 14-33-6 0.42A A/K/A LOTS 19 & 20

The variance was granted at 45' from the top of the bank for construction of a new home. 

JAMES WELCH DRAIN variance for new home construction.

             Morris Family Farm Homes LLC 10x16 Rds NWCOR SE 22-32-4  0.80A

The variance was granted at 40' from the top of the bank for construction of a new home. 

 PETERSON HEARING

The Drainage Board will hold a public hearing to increase the annual maintenance fund. The Current rate is $1.88 per acre with a $6.25 minimum.  The proposed rate is $3.50 per acre with a $25.00 minimum.

The Board approved the proposed rate and minimum as presented to them and to accumulate a 4 year balance before the collection would stop. 

 PLUNGE CREEK RECONSTRUCTION HEARING

The Drainage Board will hold a public hearing to discuss a reconstruction project on Plunge Creek.  The proposed rate per acre is $111.24.  There is no minimum assessment.  The total watershed is approximately 681.66 acres.  The total estimated cost of this project is actually $168,409.80 however,the Kosciusko County Commissioners agreed to contribute $92,820.00 to this project.  The landowners will not be responsible for the Commissioners portion. All landowners within the watershed should have received a notice in the mail.  

The Board approved to go forward with the reconstruction at the proposed rate.  The Surveyor is wanting the work done by the Fall of 2019, (if it ever stops raining)

DEEDS CREEK 

Phillips/Collier NRCS Vacation

The Board approved the vacation of a portion of Deeds Creek.

NIPSCO WAIVER DEEKS CREEK

From boring specs on Deeds Creek on County Road 225 East for gas main.

The Board stipulated that the boring must be 8' below the bottom of the ditch with locate wires on both sides of the banks. 

SYRACUSE DAM / TURKEY CREEK
